Operation Backup Inspiration

18.5.2020

Coquitlam, BC

On Sunday May 17, 2020, Captain Jennifer Casey died minutes after taking off from the Kamloops Airport, trying to bring joy to Canadian's hearts through Operation Inspiration. It was a plan to fly the nationwide famous snowbirds aerobatics team across Canada to boost morale around COVID-19. It was almost over, their flyby around Vancouver was in the coming days, but unfavourable weather conditions and aircraft malfunctions led to the death of Captain Casey. The operation was promptly cancelled for her colleagues to mourn. 35 pilots from around Metro Vancouver gathered together to launch their own flyby across the Lower Mainland, flying over all the major cities in commemoration for Captain Casey. These are photos of some of the aircraft that flew.
