#FridaysFor Future

23.9.2019

Vancouver, BC

September 27, 2019 was the day that Canadians participated in #FridaysForFuture, an initiative spurred on by Greta Thunberg. Schools in the surrounding areas allowed students to express their views on climate change and go to the protest without being labeled absent, which made it the largest climate protest in the province. 15,000 students participated, including myself and some of my friends. It started at the city hall, then moved across the Cambie Street Bridge and made its way to the Vancouver Public Library. It lasted for 4 hours, but the level of energy was held throughout the protest. I would go again, however I would bring my own lunch because the food lines were excruciatingly long.
